ICU admission is required when a patient needs continuous monitoring, organ support, mechanical ventilation, or close management that cannot safely be provided in a regular ward.

Yes — within designated visiting hours and following infection control protocols. Our critical care team prioritises keeping families informed and involved in the care of their loved ones.

An ICU (Intensive Care Unit) provides the highest level of monitoring and support for critically ill patients. An HDU (High Dependency Unit) is a step-down level for patients who need closer monitoring than a regular ward but do not require full ICU care.

ICU stays vary significantly based on condition and progress. Our critical care team works to transition patients to standard ward care as soon as it is clinically safe to do so.
